What should I expect?
-
We are located above Positive Pie in downtown Montpelier. Access the studio by going through the double doors between Woodbury Mountain Toys and Yellow Mustard. Take a left at the top of the stairs and our door will be on your right.
-
Pre-registration is required due to our small class size (currently 6 students).
-
Bring a mat, towel, and full water bottle to class. For best results we also highly recommend drinking extra water in the day leading up to class!
-
Arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the start of class. The studio is locked during class and we will not accommodate lateness because it is disruptive to those practicing inside. If an emergency prevented you from making it to class please email us at hotyogamontpelier@gmail.com.
-
Please remove your street shoes before entering the studio.
-
A restroom in the hallway is available to students. There are also two showers (in the studio) for student use after class. If you choose to shower please bring your own towel.
-
Chilled coconut water is available for purchase.
-
Masks are optional due to the strenuous nature of hot yoga and paramount importance of deep breathing.
-
We are committed to the yogic principle of saucha (cleanliness) and have instigated enhanced cleaning procedures accordingly.
-
Please refrain from discussing covid-19 and vaccination status while in the studio so that everyone can have an opportunity to take a temporary break from the stresses of life and do something healthy for our bodies, minds, and spirits. We are striving for a covid-free environment, both literally and figuratively!

Last but not least: You are your own best teacher. Push yourself but don’t push too hard. Yoga helps us learn to tolerate physical discomfort by quieting the mind but it should never hurt! Be honest with yourself, honor how your body feels, and do not "steal" poses that are not right for you (today). Only compare yourself to your former self.
